Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’ is one of the most highly scented lavenders available, flowering profusely in summer to early autumn. The blooms are some of the largest - which may be the reason the fragrance is so intense. Plant in a large border or Mediterranean garden - where the slender stems of these plants will reach an average height of 90cm, and the grey-green foliage will spread a similar distance. Fabulous as a low hedge or pathway edge where the scent will deepen as you brush past. Cut back faded flowers in autumn and prune lavender in April to maintain the shape of your plants. A hardy shrub, this lavender is undemanding, timeless, and will attract a host of pollinators to your garden. Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’ is a sun-lover, so plant in a suitably bright spot where you can enjoy the familiar summery scent. Well-drained soil which is moderately fertile is best for this Lavender which will grow vigorously as soon as it has been planted.
