Awarded the inaugural ‘Peter Seabrook Award’ for Best New Plant, Rosa 'Peter's Persica' is a striking new hybrid climbing rose known for its vibrant and unique coloration. This modern rose features single, open-faced blooms with bright yellow petals adorned with a dramatic, deep orange, red eye at the centre, giving it an exotic appearance. The flowers, usually 5-petaled, are lightly scented and bloom repeatedly from early summer through to autumn and sometimes into winter. Bred as part of the modern Persica hybrid group, 'Peter's Persica' was winner of Gardeners' World Plant of the Year 2023 and was named as a tribute to the late Peter Seabrook. This rose typically grows to a compact height of 2.5m and produces a column of colour over healthy, glossy green foliage. It performs well in sunny locations and is valued for its disease resistance and low maintenance. 'Peter's Persica' adds a bold splash of colour and its unusual look makes it a conversation piece among rose enthusiasts.
