The sage-scented foliage releases its fragrance whenever it is disturbed, so plant near a path, seat or window so you can enjoy the scent to its full potential. Happy in either borders or containers, Salvia are reliably drought-tolerant, preferring to be grown in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded spot.Collection comprises; 'La Mancha' - named after the historical region of Spain, creamy lemon-yellow blooms hold a delicate pink tinge, height 90cm, spread 50-75cm, evergreen foliage, hardy to -10 C (H4); 'Violin Music' - two-lipped, soft mauve-lilac blooms have prominent, dark purple calyces, height and spread 60-90cm, semi-evergreen foliage, hardy to -15 C (H5); and 'Oriental Dove' - introduced at the virtual Chelsea Flower Show in 2020, blooms in shades of mauve and purple have a pretty white margin, reminiscent of the wings of a dove, height 60-90cm, spread 45-60cm, evergreen foliage, hardy to -10 C (H4)
