Truly a stunning primula which comes from Tibet, giving rise to its popular name of ‘Himalayan Primrose’. A variety in its full glory in the springtime and the preference of numerous UK gardeners. Primula capitata subsp. mooreana has superb circular blooms, each displaying glorious regal purple flowers. The majestic blooms encircle, and are held high on slender, yet strong, stems. The foliage has a crinkled appearance and looks to be sprinkled with tiny snowflakes, giving a silvery sheen to the leaves. From March to May, the vibrant, perfumed blooms will pleasantly pump their fragrance into your garden. Mass planting Primula capitata subsp. mooreana will make an outstanding display, whilst also offering you an abundant supply of cut flowers. This woodland variety will thrive in moist, well-drained soil in semi-shaded beds, however, can tolerate full sun. Plants will even grow happily in your bog garden or placed near a riverbed. Once mature, your hardy Primula will extend in height and spread of 30cm.
