A single, early species of tulip which grows up to 35cm high, Tulipa ‘Sunny Prince’ produces eye-catching, buttery yellow flowers which are slightly paler towards the middle of the petals. Blooms are a simple, oval shape and held aloft on relatively stout stems - making them great for cutting as well for container and border planting. The grey green foliage emerges in late March each year and is swiftly followed by the flowers in mid-April. Glorious yellow flowers blend easily with oranges and reds to create a hot palette for your garden; or tone it down a little with whites and creams if this suits your style more readily. Plant Tulipa ‘Sunny Prince’ bulbs 15cm deep in autumn ready for flowers to emerge the following spring and add a touch of sunshine yellow to your garden.
