Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
Tulipa ‘Purple Prince’ is a single, late variety of tulip which is ideal for more exposed areas of the garden because of its strong flower stems. It blooms in April and May and flowers grow to a height of 40cm, so are ideal for cutting. The large, regal looking bloom is a rich purple colour with beetroot red undertones. The blooms of Tulipa ‘Purple Prince’ are oval-shaped and their deep intensity of colour goes well with vibrant reds for a riotous splash of colour in your borders and containers. Plant in autumn to a depth of 15cm for flowers the following spring and allow the green foliage to die back each year before tidying as this will allow nutrients to return to the bulb ready for next spring’s display. A classic shaped, rich and regal purple tulip which should thrive where other tulips have previously been susceptible to damage from poor weather conditions.
